Corethron criophilum

Single-cell organism with asymmetric distribution of spines. Cell shape is yellow-brown, chloroplasts are shown in red and the cell nucleus is blue. Attached to the spines are symbiotic nanoflagellates (green). Sample was collected by Tara Expeditions, recorded by Sebastien Colin and visualized by Stefan Günther & Gustavo de Medeiros at EMBL Heidelberg.
