Development and morphogenesis of organisms are dynamic and restrained fundamental processes of life. During progressing tissue morphogenesis controlled cell death is essential for to transform a tissue. The signals inducing controlled cell death need to be specifically received by the target cells only. Here we show how fruit fly embryos carry out this task during dorsal closure in its epithelial tissue.
