Malaria is affecting hundreds of millions every year and the numbers are rising. Patient education and measures to prevent infections are important means to fight malaria. One additional piece of the puzzle to defeat malaria is (cost) effective screening of blood samples from suspected cases. The Minimic is an attempt to automatize screening of blood samples for diagnostic decision support.
